SSH your Rpi ( in short dina gagamit ng monitor, mouse and keyboard)



SSH mo ang iyong Raspberry Pi

Hmmm.. This is not like your average wattpad story. This is not even a story to start with, so once upon a time there was a cruel king decided to cut-off his magician’s head because it was very very big and heavy. The king find a hard time travelling with the magician kaya pinutol nya yung ulo and then the king realized na nasa tyan pala ng magician ang utak nya so dala-dala nya padin yung knowledge pati OS, gumagana padin yung wisdom ni mage  so doon na buo ang SHH,..pero joke lng..rak n’ rol to the world!
Ano yung SSH?

Secure Shell (SSH), sometimes known as Secure Socket Shell, is a UNIX-based command interface and protocol for securely getting access to a remote computer. It is widely used by network administrators to control Web and other kinds of servers remotely.

In short yun nayun*. Joke lng ulit. (corny* kuna) rak n’ rol to the world ulit!

Instead of using physical devices sa computer mo like mouse, keyboard at monitor para ma access yung computer. Pwede mo din syang e access gamit yung IP address nya, pero dpat within the same network lng.

Pros: Bakit ko ba gagamitin yung SSH?

Aba malay! Tsk. Rak n rol to the world

for example: nasa park ka tpos malapit lng yung geeky na crush mo tpos matinik pa sa computer, diba nakakahiya nmn kung dadalhin mo yung complete set ng rpi mo.? Diba? Yung keyboard, mouse na wired, tpos may monitor pa,.. kung kaya mo yun samahan mo nalng ng office chair. Diba? Edi wow!.

       SSH is use for convenient purposes. Hndi muna dadalhin yung 24 inch na LCD/LED TV mo, keyboard at mouse. E coconect mo nalng sa parehong network yung rpi mo then voila! Pwede mo ng e access yung rpi. Pero what if wlang network sa pupuntahan mo? So sa susunod na tutorial kung kaya mo pang basahin ang ka conernihan ko, e tuturo ko nmn yung DCHP para pwede mo ng e connect directly sa laptop mo yung pi using UTP cable or look kay kuya google.com about DHCP for rpi.



Cons: Disadvantage ng SSH.
Hndi ako techy masyado explaining it scientifically, pero eto yung mga nkita ko.
  1.Hindi mo makikita yung bootprocess ng rpi, which is cool tignan diba? Feel mo parang hacker ka. ASTEEG!
  2.Hindi gumagana ang STARTX na command sa ssh connection.
  3.Ecomment nyo nalng yung kasunod. Dalawa lng kasi yung mata ko..

Ok mag start na tayo yun pano mag setup lng naman yung habol nyo diba, hindi yung story line ko. Tsk. Ay tama! Before tayo mag start may key ingredients tayong dapat e prepare.
Ingredients:
1pc - Raspberry Pi A,A+,B+ or 2
1pc – Monitor na napagana mo na sa rpi mo pero di mo pa napakita sa classmates mo.
1pc – keyboard
1pc – mouse , hindi yung daga ha… ok tama n aka cornyhan ko.
1pc – 5v DC power supply
1pc – radio or mp3 player para sa background music
1pc – home router/router with internet connection
1pc – lugar na lahat ay makikita kang nag sesetup ng rpi, para cool.

                p.s. download nyo yung soundtrack ni voltes five, voltron, or shaider
(akala mo mag rarak n rol ako no mamaya nay un kpag tapos na tayo.)
START:
Plug in lahat ng peripheral devices, mouse, keyboard at monitor habang nakikinig sa background music dpat feel na feel nyo yung pag connect kagaya ng pag connect ni voltes five ha para gagana ng 100% then power-up mo yung rpi.
Tingnan ma igi yung boot-up process tpos, type ng maraming-marami tpos dahan-dahan e lapit mo yung mukha mo sa monitor, para feel na feel mong hacker ka at mamamangha yung nasa paligid mo. Pagkatapos, e login your account. Sabay pabulong na YES!
Type this sa command line:
Sudo raspi-config

Makikita mo tong mahiwagang settings 

Select advance options 

Select SSH and Then enable SSH 



Tapos na. pero pano  mo gagamitin yun? Playback mo muna ulit yung soundtrack at e download mo tong putty (http://www.putty.org/) then install it. then buksan mo, like this
 double check, dapat ssh at port 22 ang nakalagay ha.


Pagkatapos shutdown your rpi disconnect all the peripherals then Connect mo sa router nyo yung rpi using UTP cat5e or cat6 cable, pagkatapos power-up mo si rpi. Then tabi ka ng konti baka mag spark or sasabog yung pi mo. Dpat cross-fingers ka talaga para hndi sasabog then tignan mo kung nag biblink na yung LED sa Ethernet port ng pi or yung LED sa router mo meaning connected na sya sa network.
Then lastly, to know kung ano yung IP address ng RPI mo. Kaya e download mo to install, run and click mo yung scan sa upper right.
Advance IP scanner:

e lagay mo sa putty yung IP adress ng rpi mo


Then hit open
Voila tpos na… na access mo na si rpi. Rak n rol to the world!

 in short, directang connection from pc/laptop to rpi using UTP.
